Aloft Kathmandu Thamel managed by Shanti Hospitality Management Services hosted its first annual �Mix n Mingle� cake mixing ceremony at the Tactic room on October 25 with Nepal�s leaders in Music, Design, and Technology. A special occasion for the hotel and special invitees alike, the mixing ceremony was followed by the October edition of Live@Aloft and an intimate dinner function at the Nook restaurant. The exclusive �Mix n Mingle� ceremony saw local entrepreneurs and members of the diplomatic community join noteworthy stalwarts from each of Aloft Kathmandu Thamel�s �three pillars� of operation- Music, Design, and Technology � as they all rolled up their sleeves to marinade fruits nuts and spices with rum and whiskey in preparation for the perfect Christmas cake in an afternoon of festive cheer to help ring in the Christmas season. The Hotel�s Executive Chef�Shailendra Singh welcomed guests with a brief introduction to behind the concept of cake mixing. Speaking at the event, Executive Chef Singh said, �Marking the arrival of the harvest season, cake mixing is a ritualistic ceremony dating to the 17th century to help bring good tidings and happiness. We here at Aloft Kathmandu Thamel wanted to bring together friends from the Music, Design & Technology fraternity to help make an exquisite Christmas cake that can be enjoyed by our guests all throughout the festive season.� With the global Movember starting in the month of November, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel also took the opportunity to spread its awareness message regarding male testicular cancer. In line with its awareness message, the hotel had a predominantly an all-male list of attendees. Invitees included Dikesh Malhotra, Asheem Man Singh Basnyat, Ayush Tamrakar & Sachet Manandhar representing Technology; Kali Prasad Banskota & Kiran Nepali for Music; Fashion icons� Tenzing Tseten Bhutia, Ahmed Dulla representing Design and members of the diplomatic community including the Latvian Consular Karan Vaidya.
