In a press conference held yesterday in the capital, the College Chef Icon, a reality cooking competition sponsored by the Sagtani Exim group was announced. The first of its kind event in the country aims to promote the traditional Nepali and international cuisine. Students enrolled in Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) & Diploma in Hotel Management (DHM) in any institution in the country can participate in this competition by enrolling for�the auditions before 29^th of May 2018. The organizers and the judges hope to push and motivate the aspiring chefs to make a name for themselves in the culinary field in the country and elsewhere. [caption id="attachment_1408" align="aligncenter" width="493"] College Chef Icon judges at the press conference[/caption] Renowned Nepali chefs Suresh Chandra Basnet, Surya Kiran Shrestha, Shree ram Adhikari, Laxman Prasad Bhandari, Dr. Sanjay Jammal, Yuvraj Pokhrel and Krishna Kaji Basnet will be judging the participants. Participants will be judged in the following categories:

1. Nepali Heritage Cuisine
2. Adivasi Cuisine
3. Continental and Italian Cuisine
4. Indian Cuisine and
5. Chinese Cuisine

A cash prize of Rs. 50000.00, Rs. 30000.00 & Rs. Rs. 15000.00 along with a kitchen set from Sagtani Exim P Ltd will be awarded to the victors securing first, second and third position respectively. The show will consist of 7 episodes in total with 2 episodes dedicated to the auditions and other episodes featuring the various rounds.�The program will air in Nepal television every week on Saturdays from the 2^nd of June,2018.
