Relatively a new outlet in Lakeside, Pokhara, Durbar opened in December last year is doing fantastic in terms of crowd and popularity. The major reason for getting popular in such short span of time is their availability of space for every kind of customer and the menu palatable for every taste bud.
Started by young entrepreneurs, Durbar Pokhara is the franchise of Durbar Kathmandu having a lavish d�cor and the seating capacity is of 220 covers. These 220 covers are spread in two floors in different sections, from comfy couches to outdoor seating, lounge to bar, dance floor to live music sections. 
The floor downstairs, i.e, the first floor has different options if we talk about the seating arrangements and d�cor. As soon as you climb the stairs to first floor, you are greeted with a big statue of Buddha calming all your senses. And there are three sections, overlooking the street lies a comfy lounge area perfect for lazy lunches or a friends� gathering or even a casual dinner. Just in front of the lounge area, lays the stairs to second floor and a coffee bar serving you varieties of coffees. If you are not a coffee person or not ion mood to have coffee the time you visit this place, then there you find a nice bar on the left hand side of coffee bar. They have good selection of international as well as domestic liquors, liqueurs and wines.
And if you are more of a live music lover or a carefree dancer, then just enter a door just in between these two bars and you�ll land up on the dance floor. This room has some rustic seating but is more focused on dancing crowd and so most of the space is left empty. Then there�s this screen where you can watch live matches, not just from this floor but from the upper floor as well as the ceiling is not covered and the floor is perfectly visible from upstairs.
The upper floor includes two types of seating, one is lounge style overlooking the first floor (from here you can watch live music, dance floor and anything playing on the big screen) from one side and other side has the view of Fewa Lake. For the football lovers, this place can be the most charming one for upcoming FIFA World Cup as the screen here is really big. The lounge style wooden sofas have comfortable seating and amazing printed cushions. Sofia Lauren and Marilyn Monroe have adorned the place as the prints on the cushions along with the antique British telephone booths. The ceiling pattern has the feel of British Palace. The same floor has their outdoor seating overlooking the street, where they have the hookah bar too. This is basically the smoking zone of Durbar Pokhara.
They do have good selection of starters, salads, soups, continental mains. Indian dishes, pizzas and pastas, sandwiches and burgers and desserts. The hookah menu and the bar menu too are extensive with good range of flavors in hookah and cocktails and mocktails in bar menu along with straight drinks. 
The ambience has the British Royal touch, the items in the d�cor reflect the same concept. You get the feel of warmth here and the same is felt in the hospitality you receive. The owners, chef as well as the servers are hospitable and they give you very quick response on all your queries. Not just the ambience, the food too is equally good here.
They have added an extra touch to all the dishes here. The simple Cheese Balls with Thousand Island Sauce too was different from what you generally get in other places. The hind of garlic in thousand island gave a nice kick to the sauce. And the cheese balls were not at all chewy, they were crispy on the outer part with very soft melt in mouth core. And the cheese on top gave it an extra cheesiness.
Another dish on the table was Basket Potato, a quite interesting dish to have. A bacon lover like me will never say enough of this dish. The potato was boiled, core removed, stuffed with chopped bacon and was topped with cheese, what else do you want? This jacket potato is sure to give you a foodgasm.
Their specialty dish (for me, the two I talked about earlier were also special but this one is their specialty as per them) was the last one we tried, the Durbar Special Chicken. And to my amusement, it was super special. The chicken breast was stuffed with minced chicken, flavored with mixed herbs and two types of cheeses, the mozzarella and kanchan, and then baked to perfection. The accompaniment, the saut�ed potatoes was complementing the dish well. It was topped with cheese sauce.
Chef Shailendra Khatri is an amazing chef out there in Durbar Pokhara, the dishes are unique and give you a oomph because they are the innovation of the very experienced hands. Chef Shailendra has 22 years of cooking experience in the country and abroad. He has worked for hotels like Vaishali Hotel Kathmandu and Soaltee Crowne Plaza Kathmandu and Moore Caf� Dubai before coming back to the country and joining Durbar Pokhara.
Anyone visiting Pokhara or residing there itself must put a visit to Durbar Pokhara in their bucket list. It�s worth a visit. The ambience, the service, the hospitality and more over the food here is excellent and you will not be disappointed. It has something on offer for everyone.
