Theres no lack of impressive resorts in the Maldives. Splendid views, well-appointed villas, top-notch service and a feel of seclusion is a given in the Indian Ocean archipelago so how does a new resort set itself apart?

The Beach Shack

Hilton has become one of the latest global brands to form a presence in the Maldives last summer with the launch of the 109-villa Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa. The resort skilfully represents how the Maldives itself has evolved as a terminal in latest years. Where it used to be an isolated spot for honeymooners, it now attracts units and families as well.  So, while there is still demand for peaceful and sanctuary, guests do not actually want to bequeath their complete trip fixed up in their stand-offish villas, as wonderful as they may be. There is also a requirement for more shared spaces, a profusion of goings-on and times to network with others. From marine sports and mixology classes to nautical ecology lessons, Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa offers all this and more.

ACCOMODATION

One Bedroom Overwater Suite with Pool

A simple 20 minutes premium speedboat sashay away from Velana International Airport, the resort is a destination in itself. Each of the extensive beach and overwater villas, have a private pool and comforting turquoise bay views. Maldivian accents and contemporary traces add to the humid airs. The villas offer copious natural light over its panoramic windows, enhancing the shade pallet that imitates the profound tenors of the sky and the ocean. The overwater pool villas come custom-made with steps that plunge into the islands bays, as well as a hammock by the pool. The beach villas alter this nature-loving setting with upright admittance to the white sands, a deck swing and a pavilion on the seashore. All the villas also swank ocean-facing bathtubs, and indoor and outdoor rain showers. A substantial summit is the six-bedroom Amingiri Residence. A heavenly escape for larger groups looking for privacy, this residence sits glided away on a designed bay. A diverse coming pier and dedicated sundeck with incessant 360-degree views of the Maldivian horizon add to the indulgence.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Home to plentiful dining concepts, Executive Chef Praveen Shetty who also happens to be a dear friend takes guests on a culinary holiday. The Origin experience revelries sustainable seafood outlining, budding processes and a food-upcycling style. Habitat, the all-day dining restaurant also panders with its enjoyable delicacies, as does the pastoral Beach Shack with its feet-in-sand dining experience.  Halt at Sip Tea Lounge to try teas from across the globe, and end the day at Eden, an adults-only overwater bar famous for its champagne and gin. The poolside bar Aura, bestowing a cocktail lab, settles the food offerings here.
