IndiGo, India's leading carrier, celebrates its 17th anniversary today, marking an
extraordinary journey filled with ground-breaking firsts in the Indian aviation industry.
IndiGo has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation, excellence, and customer
dedication.

On this remarkable milestone, IndiGo reflects on 17 game-changing achievements that have
propelled IndiGo to be a pioneering force in the aviation landscape of India and beyond.
From the first-ever flight to introducing cutting-edge technology, IndiGo's legacy of "Firsts"
has redesigned air travel, setting new standards and connecting millions to their dreams. As
IndiGo soars higher, it remains dedicated to forging new frontiers and elevating the flying
experience for its customers.

The journey of IndiGo has been marked by numerous pioneering achievements, each
contributing to its legacy of innovation and excellence: IndiGo's inaugural flight operated
from Delhi to Guwahati, creating a new milestone in domestic connectivity August 4, 2006.
IndiGo introduced the pioneering concept of using ramps for boarding and deboarding on
August 4, 2006, enhancing passenger convenience and safety. The 17th domestic
destination, Ahmedabad, was added to IndiGo's expanding network on January 29, 2008,
opening up new travel opportunities. IndiGo reached a major milestone by launching its first
international flight to the dazzling city of Dubai on September 1, 2011. In August 2015, the
airline introduced the ground-breaking Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), becoming the first in the
region to embrace digital solutions for operational efficiency. IndiGo embraced the cutting-
edge A320neo aircraft, with registration VT-ITC (MSN 6799), on March 10, 2016, actively
participating in revolutionizing fuel efficiency and passenger experience. The airline's first
ATR aircraft, registered as VT-IYA (MSN 1457), took to the skies on November 17, 2017,
solidifying its regional presence. IndiGo achieved the historic milestone of becoming the first
Indian carrier to operate 1000 flights a day on December 22, 2017, showcasing unmatched
operational prowess. The airline ventured into the Udan scheme, launching the Kochi to
Hubballi route in January 2018, making air travel accessible to more regions. IndiGo proudly
unveiled its first A321 aircraft on December 27, 2018. IndiGo expanded its horizons with the
addition of Jeddah as its 17th international destination on June 8, 2019, connecting cultures
across borders. IndiGo became a trailblazer in the industry by pioneering the launch of a
pilot program for IATA travel pass on August 3, 2021, revolutionizing international
travel. Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability, IndiGo operated its maiden SAF fuel flight on February 18, 2022, from TLS to Delhi. IndiGo led the industry by being the first
airline to offer 3-point disembarkation effective August 2022, further streamlining
passenger movement. IndiGo added the picturesque city of Ras-Al-Khaimah as its 100th
destination on September 22, 2022, shortly after launching Bahrain as the 99th destination.
IndiGo set a new record with the maximum number of 3 lac customers per day in May,

The airline's ambitious order book made history on June 19, 2023, with the largest
order in aviation history of 500 A320 aircraft, bringing the order book close to 1.000 aircraft
and solidifying its position as the airline with the biggest order in the industry On their
birthday, August 4th, we have crossed a significant milestone in our history by reaching
1,900 flights per day.
