Kathmandu� With the aim of transforming Nepal as the best destination for tourits, Global Academy of Tourism and Hospitality Education (GATE) is supporting the �Nepalese National Cooking Championship� with the objective of educating and providing platform for individual who are willing to showcase their culinary talent and skill.   National Skill Competition in Cookery is the first ever competition organized in all 7 states of Nepal conducted solely through the help of Nepal Vocational Qualification System, CTEVT, Swiss Contact including Nepal Government, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The main agenda of this competition is to give recognition to the chefs through Recognition Prior Learning (RPL) that will boost their culinary skills and knowledge. This competition will take place nationwide where Nepalese aged at least 18 years are encouraged to enter. Two chefs will be selected from each province with one of them being awarded the �Chef of the year� in Pokhara. National and International Representatives along with key stakeholders of the hotel industry will decide the winner. A cash prize of at least NRS 1, 00,000 and other gifts will be awarded to the victor.
