Vivatnta Kathmandu held a cake mixing ceremony on 16 October to mark the beginning of the Christmas celebrations. Various invited guests took part in mixing the various dry fruits that were laid out, infusing them with alcohol and spices. The mixture will be stored and periodically marinated further and will be used to bake the Christmas cake later on. Historically, cake mixing marked the start of the harvest season but presently it marks an occasion for social gathering and merrymaking as well. On the same day, the hotel also launched the Punjabi Dhamaka, a Punjabi food festival for the people to experience authentic Punjabi food. Having conducted many food festivals in the past, we were heavily requested to host a Punjabi food festival by our guests. We listened to their request and have presented the authentic food from Punjab that will definitely entice our guests, said Executive Chef Milind Ramesh Kumbhare. The food fest will be held for 10 days starting from 17 October until 25 October from 6.30 pm till 22.30 pm every day. The buffet is priced at NPR 1700++ for a non-alcoholic package and NPR 2000++ for an alcoholic package per person. The hotel recommends reservations.
