Purnima Shrestha, reporter & photographer of Food & Wine Magazine also well known as Nepal's female photo journalist stood atop the world's eighth highest peak Mount Manaslu on 26 September 2017. She has been the first photo journalist from Nepal to summit 8,163-meter peak Mount Manaslu located in the northern district Gorkha. She stood atop the peak along with other climbers at 4 a.m, confirmed Mr. Temba Tsheri Sherpa, director of an expedition company Sherpa Khangri Outdoor. Four foreigner climbers also reached the top of the peak at 6:00 a.m. on the same day. At least 20 teams including over 250 climbers had taken the permit for Mount Manaslu this season. The rope-fixing team had stood atop the peak on Sept. 18, opening the route for climbers.
27-year-old Shrestha, who hails from Gorkha district, has been working with Food & Wine Magazine for more than 5 years and doing independent photo journalism for different national dailies and online portals. This strong, determined & beautiful lady is now eyeing on climbing the Mt. Everest very soon.
