Soaltee Crowne Plaza Kathmandu held its annual cake mixing ceremony on November 27, 2019, amid invited guests, hotel staff and media personnel. Cake mixing is an age-old tradition dating back to 17th century Europe. Back then, the ceremony marked the arrival of the harvest season during which various fruits and nuts were harvested and mixed using various spices and liquor. This tradition is now celebrated globally to mark the beginning of the Christmas season. Soaltee Crowne Plaza Kathmandu presented guests with an array of spices and dry fruits along with a wide selection of alcoholic drinks that were to be mixed in with the dry fruits. The mixture will be stored until Christmas Day when the mixture will be baked to make various cakes and bread.
